Shopify AI Search Visibility & Agent-Ready Catalog
Shoppers now ask ChatGPT, Copilot, Google AI Mode and Gemini what to buy. Those answers draw on your product data, your pages and what other sites say about you. We check what AI channels can see from your store, fix the product data and pages they rely on, and measure where you show up.
AI channels read your catalog, not your homepage.
Eligible Shopify products are already shared with AI channels through Shopify Catalog and Agentic Storefronts. Shopify standardizes your titles, descriptions, options, images, price and availability, then agents compare them against competing products. Missing attributes, variants split into separate products, facts stored only in images or custom fields that are not mapped all make a product harder to match to a shopper’s question. Separately, AI search answers cite pages they can retrieve that answer the question being asked.
A good fit if
You sell to US shoppers on Shopify and want to know how AI channels represent your products today.
Your product facts live in metafields, apps, images or a PIM and may not reach Shopify Catalog cleanly.
Your buying guides, comparisons and policies are thin, inconsistent or hard for a crawler to read.
You want measurement you can repeat, not a one-off screenshot of a chatbot answer.
Probably not a fit if
You want a guaranteed ChatGPT or Google recommendation. No one can promise that.
You expect AI to invent product facts, certifications or reviews you do not have.
You mainly sell B2B or behind a login. Shopify’s agentic channels support direct-to-consumer sales.
What we review and fix.
We start from what each channel can actually read, then fix the data and pages in priority order. Every change is approved by your team before it is published.
Agentic channel readiness
Review the Agentic sales channel in Shopify admin: eligibility, ineligible products and their stated reasons, channel mapping, direct checkout settings per channel, and the Google & YouTube channel for AI Mode and Gemini. Confirm B2B, password or login rules are not hiding products you want listed.
Product data for agents
Audit titles, descriptions, product category, options and variants, identifiers such as GTIN, images, price, compare-at pricing and availability. Map facts held in metafields, metaobjects or tags, and group separate products that should be variants. Shipping speed and return terms are checked against the real buying journey.
Crawl and discovery access
Check robots.txt and edge or bot-protection rules for the crawlers that feed AI search, including OAI-SearchBot for ChatGPT search and Googlebot for AI Overviews and AI Mode. Review Shopify’s generated agents.md and llms.txt files, and confirm structured data matches what the page shows.
Answer-ready pages
Identify the buyer questions shoppers ask about your category, then improve the product, collection, comparison and guide pages that should answer them, using approved facts. We also note where third-party reviews and mentions are missing, since AI answers often rely on sources you do not own.
Visibility baseline and tracking
Run a fixed set of unbranded buyer questions across AI tools and record brand mentions, product recommendations, citations of your pages and factual errors separately. Set up AI referral reporting in your analytics and note where those referrals are undercounted.
The scope covers the channels and markets Shopify currently supports for your store. Catalog fixes beyond the agreed priority list, new content production and ongoing monitoring are quoted separately.
How the work runs.
A bounded review comes first, so you see the gaps and the order of fixes before committing to implementation.
01
Agree the questions and products
Pick the products, collections and buyer questions that matter commercially. Confirm access and who approves changes.
02
Baseline
Record how AI tools answer those questions today and what Shopify reports about your catalog eligibility, before anything changes.
03
Audit data, pages and access
Review catalog mapping, product attributes, crawl access and the pages that should answer each question. Rank findings by likely impact and effort.
04
Fix and publish
Implement approved changes to product data, mappings, templates and content. We use preview themes and your approval before anything goes live.
05
Re-measure
Repeat the same questions under the same settings over several weeks, and report changes with their denominators rather than single answers.
Ways to work together.
Pricing depends on catalog size and the number of channels and questions in scope. We quote after a short call.
AI Search Readiness Review
A fixed-scope review of channel eligibility, product data, crawl access and priority pages, with a visibility baseline and a ranked fix list.
Quoted after a call.
Implementation
We build the agreed fixes: catalog mapping, variant grouping, attribute and metafield cleanup, template and structured data changes, and page improvements.
Quoted per scope. Does not require the review.
Ongoing monitoring
Monthly re-runs of your buyer questions, catalog eligibility checks and a short report of what changed and what to fix next.

Questions before we start.
Do I need this to sell in ChatGPT?
No. Eligible Shopify products are already discoverable through Shopify Catalog at no extra cost, and you do not need us to switch it on. This service is about how accurately and completely your products are represented once they are there, and whether your pages are cited.
Can you guarantee my products get recommended?
No. Recommendations depend on the shopper’s question, their context and each platform’s selection behavior, which no consultancy controls. Platforms say ranking can draw on data quality, relevance, availability, price and engagement. We improve what you control and measure the result honestly.
Is this the same as SEO?
It overlaps. Crawl access, clear pages and accurate structured data help both. The difference is the product catalog that AI channels read directly, and measuring mentions and recommendations in answers rather than only rankings.
Do I need llms.txt, special schema or AI text files?
Google says no special files or markup are required to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode. Shopify already generates agents.md and llms.txt for stores. We check that what they say is accurate and focus on product data and pages, where the evidence is stronger.
How do you measure AI visibility?
We repeat a fixed set of buyer questions under consistent settings over several weeks, and record brand mentions, recommendations, page citations and factual errors separately. AI referrals in analytics are reported too, with the caveat that many are recorded as direct traffic.
Which AI channels are covered?
ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot through Shopify Catalog, Google AI Mode and Gemini through the Google & YouTube channel, and AI search answers more broadly. Channel availability depends on your store’s eligibility and markets, and it changes, so we confirm it at the start.
